Bereavement - Introduction

Someone very dear to you has been forever removed from your life. There may be feelings of shock, numbness, and disbelief at what has happened. Whether the illness of a loved one lasts for a short period of time, or for months or even years, the survivor is never fully ready for death to occur. Relief, guilt, and sadness may all be jumbled into the mixture of grief, leaving you physically and emotionally drained.

Adjusting to the life changes, settling final arrangements, and working through the emotions of grief in the weeks and months ahead may be a difficult task. Hospice of North Central Oklahoma Family Services Staff members want you to know that you are not alone in these times. We are available to help in the way which best suits your needs and wishes.

These pages are designed to address some of the concerns which are common among bereaved persons. It also will explain the support services available to you over the next fifteen months. We hope you will find it helpful. Feel free to call with questions, just to talk, or to inform us of changes you want to the services we will provide for you.
