Marta’s medical career began in the field of Laboratory Medicine. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Oklahoma State University and completed an internship at University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City.

She worked as a Medical Technologist for many years in both clinic and hospital settings serving as bench technologist and supervisor. Managed a medical practice for several years.

Attended Northern Oklahoma College School of Nursing graduating in 1996. Since then, she has worked as a staff nurse at Stillwater Medical Center and Via Christi Regional Medical Center (now known as Ponca City Medical Center), working on Medical/Surgical units, Skilled Nursing unit, and in the Emergency Room, holding certifications in ACLS, TNCC, and PALS.

In June of 2001, she continued her career with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma as Director of Patient Care Services. Currently, she holds membership in the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association and American Nurses Association. Completed the End of Life Nursing Education Consortium Training Program and is a Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association Approved Educator.

In September of 2003, she became a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse. Her community activities include membership in Professionals Today serving as Membership Chairman and Director of Music Ministry at First Christian Church and member of the Ponca City Area Handbell Directors serving as Treasurer. Graduated with the 2007 Ponca City Leadership Class sponsored by the Ponca City Area Chamber of Commerce.
