Shelley received her education at both the Oklahoma State University and the
University of Oklahoma. In 1985, she received her Bachelors of Science degree
from the Oklahoma State University and in 2002, she received her Master's Degree
in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. Then, in 2005, Shelley sat for
the licensed clinical social work exam and passed the examination, making her a
L.C.S.W., licensed clinical social worker.
Shelley has been a social worker for twenty years. She started out at the
Stillwater Domestic Violence center as a volunteer and left two years later as
the Administrative Assistant. She then went to work for the State of Oklahoma,
Department of Human Services and worked for the State for 16 years. During her
career with the DHS, she served in a variety of areas, ending her career as an
investigator for child abuse and neglect. During the years 2001-2004, Shelley
worked at the Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center as a social worker
and has recently joined the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma team as the
Director of Family Services. Shelley's primary role is to lead the Family
Services department, consisting of social workers, chaplain and bereavement
volunteers to ensure the patients and their families receive the best possible
support during the most difficult time in their lives.
Shelley's hobbies include reading, gardening, playing in the water and being
with her family. Shelley looks forward to working within the communities of
north central Oklahoma and desires to provide comfort and services to those who
are facing end-of-life issues, along with the hurting and their families.
